Jury and evaluation

Build a shortlist from scores

Updated 8 Oct · 2 min · Program team

Once evaluators have scored a round, the program team turns scores into a shortlist. Scores rank the pool. People make the final call.

Steps

  1. Open the applications in the round and compare their weighted totals in the Evaluation Rubric panel, along with each evaluator's recommended decision.
  2. Look first at applications where evaluators disagree: a wide spread of scores usually means the application needs a discussion, not an average.
  3. For each application you're taking forward, record the decision. Shortlisted applications move to Shortlisted.
  4. Use Accept, Reject or Waitlist when the final decision is made. Applicants are emailed when their status changes.

Tips

  • Decide the size of the shortlist before you look at scores.
  • Waitlist rather than reject when you're close to capacity, so you can move quickly if a place opens.
  • Filter Applications by Shortlisted and choose Export CSV to share the list with your board.
